Next generation Beatles? ... James McCartney, Sean Lennon, Dhani Harrison and Zak Starkey

PAUL McCartney’s son has revealed The Beatles’ kids are working on plans to form a band.

James is eager to team up with Sean Lennon, Dhani Harrison and Zak Starkey to create the next generation of the Fab Four.

However, he admits Ringo Starr’s son Zak is too busy to join – but his brother Jason, also a drummer, has expressed a keen interest.

He said: “I'd be up for it. Sean seemed to be into it, Dhani seemed to be into it. I'd be happy to do it.”

Asked if the group had been mooted, James replied: “Yeah, a little bit.”

In a BBC interview, the singer/guitarist said he believes the dream could become a reality.

He added: “Yeah, hopefully, naturally. I don't know, you'd have to wait and see.

“The will of God, nature's support, I guess. So yeah, maybe.”

James, 34, has released three solo EPs to date and has worked with his famous father in the studio.

Like his dad, Dhani, 33, is a guitar player who completed George’s final album Brainwashed following his death in 2001. He formed a band called thenewno2 in 2006.

John’s lad Sean, 36, is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who has released several solo and band albums, and has worked with his mum Yoko Ono.

Zak, 46, is the oldest and best known name of the clan, having drummed for Oasis and The Who.
