SAVILE ROW SHOPS RESIST U.S INVADER OPENING CHILDREN'S SHOP IN FORMER HOME OF BEATLES'RECORD LABEL

Not since the Beatles played on the roof of the building 43 years ago has there been such a kerfuffle in the street below.

But the old-school tailors of world famous Savile Row are being forced to band together to halt the march of vulgar commercialism.

In exclusive shops and cutting rooms throughout the historic heartland of top class menswear, they are opposing a plan by Abercrombie & Fitch, the racy U.S. clothes chain, to open a kids’ store in an office building that was once the Fab Four’s Apple headquarters.
