ABOARD THE "YELLOW SUBMARINE" ANIMATOR OF BEATLES ROCK FILM RECALLS 1960s ADVENTURE

Ron Campbell, the animator of the 1960s Beatles rock film "Yellow Submarine," has had little contact with the members of the legendary band. But his work played a role in the life of the Fab Four and he knows at least one Beatle is a fan.

Campbell, now 72, was only 24 when he was hired by producer Al Brodax to animate the film. He was a busy artist in Australia and didn't even know who the Beatles were. The job, however, was an exciting challenge for any young animator and Campbell proved to be up to the task.
