Forgotten images of The Beatles' 1963 North East tour have resurfaced after spending more than 47 years gathering dust in a grandfather’s Tyneside home.
Freelance photographer Keith Perry snapped the Fab Four as they toured the region in November 1963, when they played gigs in Newcastle and Sunderland.
But for nearly five decades the photos have remained unseen after the father-of-three filed them in a drawer in his Heaton home.
Now the images are going under the hammer at an auction of memorabilia dedicated to the band in their Liverpool hometown.
Last night Mr Perry revealed he was not a great fan of the band and he had only gone to meet them to collect their autographs for his brother.
Those autographs now take pride of place in the Butterfly Cabinet cafe owned Mr Perry’s brother, Neil, in Heaton.
The 68-year-old, who has two sons and one daughter, said: “I wasn’t a particularly big fan – I was only there because my brother was into the band.
