CHANTAL Contouri recalls a brush with The Beatles that led to her hospitalisation and a job with John Lennon.

ACTRESS and owner of Hindley St eatery Barbecue Inn Chantal Contouri was the world's biggest Beatles fan when the band came to Adelaide in 1964.

In this edited extract from a new book compiling South Australians' memories of the event, Contouri details how her teenage obssession with the fab four got her hospitalised, grounded and suspended from school - and eventually landed her a job alongside John Lennon.
