BEATLES MAGAZINE: THE BEATLES x AVANT ARTE PRINTS

The Beatles x Avant Arte Prints. Early access for Beatles subscribers begins today, 3 March, 17:00 GMT.

In 2022, artist Em Cooper painted more than 1,300 individual frames for the animated music video accompanying a special release of the Beatles song “I’m Only Sleeping,” from 1966.

The video is a visual meditation on the in between space of dreaming and wakefulness, intertwining archival clips with dreamy, hand painted sequences that reflect the warm internal quality of the song. It won the Grammy for Best Music Video in 2024.

And now, two limited edition prints created from the video have been released in a collaboration with Avant Arte and Em Cooper. Titled “Early in the Morning” and “In the Middle of a Dream,” both prints are rendered in Em’s classic oil painted style, transferred from animation medium to fine art print by Avant Arte’s specialist printmaking studio,
