THE BEATLES' ICONIC "WHITE ALBUM" COULD HAVE BEEN CALLED "A DOLL's HOUSE"

The Beatles' White Album it was originally going to be released under a completely different name before a last-minute change was made.

The Beatles' 'White Album' was originally going to be called 'A Doll’s House' - until another group released an album with that same name.

The Beatles then decided to change the album cover to all white, to emphasise a shift from their previous and colourful album, 'Sgt. Pepper'.

Contrary to some belief, the ditched artwork surfaced later as the cover for the 'Beatles Ballads' compilation in the 1980s — a point that sparked nostalgia among fans.

The "other group"  turned out to be the band Family, who launched 'Music in a Doll's House' back in July 1968, only four months before The White Album hit the scenes.
