 George Harrison died of lung cancer on November 29, 2001 at the age of 58. Now 21 years on since that tragic day in The Beatles' history, fans around the world have been paying tribute to the late music icon.

 

 

 

 

His wife Olivia Harrison posted two hearts surrounded by an Om emoji, symbolising an invocation in Hinduism. Her accompanying video featured George, who embraced Indian culture, playing the guitar. The track playing in the Instagram post is Harrison’s While My Guitar Gently Weeps, taken from a live performance with Eric Clapton.
